Ultimate Fajita Queso
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Tallent Ultimate Fajita Sausage, removed from casing
- 1 Tbsp butter
- ½ cup onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 2 cups Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup diced tomatoes (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Tortilla chips or toasted baguette slices for serving
Instructions:
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown the sausage, until cooked through.
- Sauté the Veggies: Add the diced onion and jalapeño, cooking until softened. If using, stir in the diced tomatoes.
- Melt the Cheese: Lower the heat and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Gradually add shredded Pepper Jack cheese, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Season It Up: Mix in garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and white vinegar. Stir well to enhance the flavors.
- Serve & Garnish: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve warm with tortilla chips or toasted baguette slices.
